Advisor Metals Precious Metals Market Update for June 20, 2025

Did the price of silver pause its upward move this week?

Yes, though only a bit and decreased .39% this week versus last Friday’s close.    The 50-day and 200-day moving averages continue to be upsloping.

Gold this week increased 1.51% doing what gold does especially when the stock market declines as the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) did this week declining 1.3% versus last Friday’s close.  And, the DJIA was below its flattened 200-day moving average every day this week.  The 200-day moving average is what the big players look at and could portend a stock market decline.

In economic news this week the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) had their interest rate meeting and left the target fed funds rate at 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 percent unchanged from their previous meeting. Many analysts feel there will be two interest rate reductions this year.  How, I do not know with inflation continuing to be above the FED’s 2% target.

Until next time…
